Happy New Year! I wish you and your family many blessings in 2020.
We at The Peace with Dementia Rosary, in an effort to expand “Education, Intentions, Community” of the book’s subtitle, are starting a monthly YouTube live stream with a Rosary and then some Q&A.
Question (Q): What is a YouTube “live stream” and what is special about this one?
Answer (A): A live stream is a live video via YouTube viewed on your computer or smartphone with internet. You will see and hear Matthew speaking to you. He will not hear you, but you can type comments in a chat box for him to see. There’s another way to submit questions…
Q: Who is the live stream for?
A: Persons living with dementia/memory impairment, family members, friends, professionals, clergy, volunteers, parish ministries, and students. Persons with memory impairment are encouraged to join us for the Rosary and Q&A or just the Rosary – whatever you think.
Q: How do I participate?
A: Those on the e-mail list will receive a special link to the live stream on the day of the event; the link will ensure you can find us. Anyone on YouTube can see the event in progress by finding the Care Partner Mentoring LLC YouTube Channel.
Q: How do I join the Dementia Rosary community e-mail list?
A: Visit www.DementiaRosary.com and enter your email address in the space where email is requested. You will receive a welcome letter, Novena to St. John, and instructions on submitting questions.
Q: How can I submit questions for the Q&A?
A: The Dementia Rosary community members (those who signed up for weekly email updates) have priority for submitting questions by responding to the Monday email newsletter. If we run out of questions, we can accept them during the Q&A in the chat box.
Q: What is the agenda for the live stream?
A) We anticipate that the live stream will be 60 minutes. After a brief introduction and welcome, we will ask for your intentions, recite the Rosary (~20 minutes) and then begin the Q&A.
Q: Can I invite others?
A) Yes! Please invite others. Simply share the Monday email newsletter that contains the video link.
Q: Is there a fee?
A) Nope! There is no fee for the monthly live event. We request that you keep our mission in your prayers and share this ministry with your networks, including your parishes.
Q: Can I project or display the live stream for a large group (at a church, hall, support group)?
A: Absolutely, the more the merrier. I would encourage the group members to join the email list if they want to receive our regular emails. If you do host a group, please send us an email and let us know! Send pics if you want.
Q: Do I need to be Catholic or even religious?
A: We welcome people of all faiths or no formal faith. We ask everyone to be respectful in the comments.
Q: What if I cannot join the live stream?
A: We hope you can join us live, but if you cannot, we will email everyone a link to the recording 24-48 hours after the live stream.
Q: How will know I know the dates of future live streams?
A: Members of the email list will receive a list of upcoming dates, as well as reminders.
Thanks for your interest. You’ll see us on YouTube live!
